Not gonna lie, I was not expecting much in such an isolated little town, but this hotel may be the best one we’ve stayed in during our entire two weeks in NZ. It was incredibly reasonably priced for what it was. Our room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable, and it had the most amazing shower with great water pressure. The bed was extremely comfortable and the curtains were wonderful at blocking out most of the sunlight in the morning. I’m a bit sad we weren’t staying longer in town because of how great our hotel room was. Would definitely recommend!

After a day riding in pissing down rain, Heather and Paul couldn’t have been any more accommodating. Even to 3 North Islanders.

Murchison?? Middle of nowhere!! Stayed 3 nights, Rained!! But the hosts Heather and Paul were so welcomely we never felt we were doomed. Their welcome Mat spread wide to immediately attend to any small problem we had with the unit. They upgraded us, convenient for them and we certainly didn’t say no. Really great accommodation in our unit and the others we spied through the windows. Valleys around MURCH are very special to explore wet or sunshine. Really recommend staying here. We will be back again simply to explore more and experience the attention Paul and Heather give to your stay.

We booked two rooms for ourselves and family and the place was amazing value for money. Absolutely best hotel so far in New Zealand from check in to check an absolute pleasure

On the way to Golden Bay we’ve stayed here three times and Grand Suites consistently ticks all our boxes; welcoming staff…modern….well equipped kitchen…clean…quiet and exceptionally comfortable beds, both the double and the single. Many thanks to the staff!

Modern, spotless, spacious accommodation. Loved the extra touches such as a Nespresso machine. One of the best motels I have stayed in for a long time.

Premises are modern and clean, plenty of power points for gadgets, staff are friendly. I’ve stayed here three times now, very consistent.

Top quality motel by NZ standards. Comfortable and quiet. Lack of additional toilet rolls would be my only comment.

What a beautiful spot, beautiful and clean had a great stay will definitely be back!! Great service when we arrived 👍👍 And had beautiful dinner down at local pub!

We were on a road trip and selected Murchison as a convenient stopover. Our booking at the Grand Suites proved to be an excellent choice – it was what you would hope all travel accommodation would be. Well done!

We stay here to break up the summer journey from Christchurch to Golden bay and it is consistently excellent every time. Great if you’ve got kids. Very friendly and helpful service and the rooms are comfortable, quiet and clean. Many thanks!

We loved our 1 night stay. Clean, modern and new with all amenities including a smart TV. The room 8 was really well appointed. There’s a laundry on site which closes at 8.30pm. I would definitely recommend if you’re travelling through Murchison.

Fab place to stay. The room is modern, clean and large. The room was prepared and warmed up. The bed very comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer but just passing through for the night. Excellent quality for the price. If you want some luxury, this is the place. Local restaurants a short 3 mins walk away.

I have stayed previously, and have always had a friendly greeting on arrival. The rooms are very comfortable with a well appointed kitchen. The only place to stay in Murch.

Would definately recommend. A very high standard of accomodation and a friendly host. The rooms are spacious clean and stylish. We would have liked to stay longer.
